Will PRISON BARS protect the GOATS from the neighborhood coyotes?

We live on a farm in the city, but that doesn't mean we don't get predators. Every once in a while, we get a rogue coyote around the neighborhood so we're building a sturdy goat barn to protect them.
Each morning on our one acre farm in the city of Phoenix, Arizona, we start the day with milking goats, feeding pigs, and gathering eggs. We have a small plot of land, but boy, do we make the most of it. Each animal on our farm is taken care of holistically & organically. We let the mama goats raise their babies until they reach 10 weeks of age and are naturally weaned from nursing. We keep a small herd of 5-7 milking goats, mainly the Nigerian Dwarf breed, although we still have the queen of the herd, Luna, our Nubian goat. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, cream, and we use it in all sorts of baking & cooking. We love that we can walk into our backyard and gather food. It's the best feeling ever!
After the morning chores, we usually tend to the pond -- we're always adding new pond plants and fish to maintain the delicate ecosystem of our natural swimming pool. Our backyard farm is full of adventures, and we're so happy to share our farm vlog with you. Hopefully you can feel inspired to grow something of your own, or care for an animal with kindness like we strive to do. Thanks for watching!

  • That lasagna looks great, I'll have to try those flavors. I always use uncooked noodles in my lasagna and they turn out great, two little tips to ensure that they'll be to your desired texture, you could thin out your sauce a little anticipating that the noodles will absorb some of that moisture and you could let the casserole sit for 30-60 minutes before putting it in the oven.

  • You guys are so inspiring! I currently live on a 1/3 acre home in California but soon we will be moving to a 21 acre farm in Kentucky. I still live my parents at 24 because house/apartment prices in SoCal are ridiculous so I help out with the bills for my parents and I take care of our rescue horse Loki in our backyard. Loki was a companion to my mom’s 34 year old thoroughbred Tommy unfortunately in December he passed away to weeks to the day after my own horse Bullet passed after not being able to get up from surgery. But back to what I meant to say is that you guys inspire me! Having a working farm in a suburban neighborhood is awesome! When we get settled into our farm we plan to get chickens, and I plan on starting a garden for veggies. But most importantly we are going to start fostering farm animals (at least until I convince my mom to let me keep some of them). Its been a dream of ours to own our own farm and I’m excited to say showing my parents your videos has helped in getting my dad on board my mom’s farm plans! Can’t wait for your piglets and baby ghosts to arrive!!
