Is FERN the MINIATURE GOAT pregnant? (goat ultrasound)

Today's the day! Little Fern is having her ultrasound and we couldn't be more excited!
Each morning on our one acre farm in the city of Phoenix, Arizona, we start the day with milking goats, feeding pigs, and gathering eggs. We have a small plot of land, but boy, do we make the most of it. Each animal on our farm is taken care of holistically & organically. We let the mama goats raise their babies until they reach 10 weeks of age and are naturally weaned from nursing. We keep a small herd of 5-7 milking goats, mainly the Nigerian Dwarf breed, although we still have the queen of the herd, Luna, our Nubian goat. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, cream, and we use it in all sorts of baking & cooking. We love that we can walk into our backyard and gather food. It's the best feeling ever!
After the morning chores, we usually tend to the pond -- we're always adding new pond plants and fish to maintain the delicate ecosystem of our natural swimming pool. Our backyard farm is full of adventures, and we're so happy to share our farm vlog with you. Hopefully you can feel inspired to grow something of your own, or care for an animal with kindness like we strive to do. Thanks for watching!

  • Your corn field is to small and can't pollinate. You need to brake off a couple of tassels each night and use them like feather dusters over each of the silks of the ears of corn. Do this each night for an entire week, it takes an entire week.

  • I know nothing much about farming or homesteading or gardening, however I do remember my uncle who was a farmer and needed the corn for his cows, tell me that he had to rotate his corn fields. Corn depletes soil nutrients in one to three cycles years, depending on soil nutrients to begin with. If you drain the soil nutrients, it also affects your other crops you're going to plant in that field. he always had to have the soil analyzed every year. Then he would order and add the depleted nutrients every year. This he said he did, whether or not he was planting corn in a field, or soybeans, or straw or hay, etc.

    • Also technically the oregano and olives would have been traditional, but the tomatoes wouldn't have been, (prior to 530 years ago) but then again, current spaghetti has bits and pieces from around the world added to it. :) I think that's why I enjoy the dish so much.
